TPO Parts Billet Aluminum Drain Plugs are made from 7075-T7 Aluminum alloy. This is a true aerospace grade of aluminum, and is much stronger than either the factory plug (brass) or plugs made by other shops (6000 series aluminum). TPO Plugs are very lightweight, but they are built tough so they won't round off when you work on your bike.
Furthermore, TPO's plugs are designed with practical features that make them more than just pretty to look at:
- Our "double hex" design allows you to remove or install these plugs with either an allen wrench or an ordinary wrench or socket. You don't need to hunt for special tools when you change your oil.
- The plugs incorporate a Viton O-ring to ensure proper sealing against the engine. This provides a good seal every time--and you don't have to fool with factory crush washers anymore. The O-ring is more reliable and does not need constant replacement.
- The plug comes pre-drilled for safety wire on all six faces. If you race or do trackdays you will find this feature very handy!
- Our plugs include a rare earth magnet to collect any metal bits that might be inside your engine. The factory plug has a magnet too, but it can barely pick up a paper clip. Our magnet is rated to lift several pounds. It is astonishingly strong and does a much better job at pulling metal bits out of your motor.
