This kit gives your Ducati a GP-style (reverse) shift pattern. With the TPO Parts GP Racing Gearshift Kit installed, you will push down on the gearshift lever in order to upshift, and you will pull up on the lever in order to downshift--exactly the opposite of the normal arrangement. Why on earth would you want to do this? The same reason why all MotoGP and other professional racers do it: because it gives the rider an edge in the turns. The reverse shift pattern lets you upshift while leaned over as you exit a tight left-hand corner. With a traditional shift arrangement there isn't enough room to fit your boot underneath the shifter. But, install this kit and you don't need to get your foot under the lever, allowing you to make that critical upshift at the best possible time.

These parts might be small, but they are made to aerospace industry tolerances. TPO uses top-quality parts that we have been custom machined for this application. The kit includes a pair of Titanium bolts which are made with deeply dished-out heads for maximum weight savings. The heads are also drilled for safety wire for use in racing. The kit includes a billet titanium nut. Both the bolts and the nut are flange type, for the firmest possible linkage. The kit also includes a set of precisely machined 7075-T7 alloy spacers to complete the kit. Complete step-by-step directions are included with the kit, and the kit is installed with basic hand tools. No permanent modifications are necessary--this kit is a simple bolt-on mod.
