TPO Racing Full-Floating Brake Rotor Buttons

TPO Racing Full-Floating Brake Rotor Buttons have two great benefits for your motorcycle:

TPO Parts uses Tennalum 7068 aluminum in our brake rotor buttons. This amazing alloy is the next generation of alloys for use in motor sports. It's better than steel, even better than titanium! For more information, please read our metal alloys article on this.

First, they convert your rigid brakes to a full-floating setup, just like those on a professional race machine. "Full Floating" means that the outer rim of the rotor (the braking surface) is allowed to move slightly with respect to the solid center of the brake disc. A floating rotor will find it's own optimal path through the brake caliper. This means reduced brake drag which lets you put more horsepower to the ground instead of wasting it. They also help control warping under hard braking by allowing the braking surface to expand and contract naturally.

Second, they reduce the weight of your brake rotors. This reduces unsprung, rotating, mass. This has a similar benefit to lightweight wheels: better acceleration and faster turn-in. A typical install will save well over one pound of rotating weight on your front wheel!

Is there a downside? All true full-floating brakes make a slight rattling noise sometimes. This is true of all full-floating brakes, including all MotoGP, World Superbikes, etc. This sound is not objectionable to most riders. Rather, like the whine of a supercharger or the rattle of the Ducati dry clutch, this is a sign of true performance brakes.

TPO Racing Full-Floating Brake Rotor Buttons are a great way to improve your braking performance, power, and handling at the same time.

TPO's buttons are engineered to be the best you can buy. We started by studying the buttons used on Ducati MotoGP machines, as well as those supplied by other companies such as STM and Vee Two. The TPO design was perfected with computer stress modeling. The finished part is manufactured on a modern CNC lathe to exacting tolerances. The result is a product that is both STRONGER and LIGHTER than existing technology. We use the incredibly strong 7068 aluminum alloy; this lets us shave extra weight off the buttons while maintaining an even higher degree of strength for safety. TPO buttons also include mil-spec stainless steel clips and washers. You won't find any cheap steel or galvanized parts here. The buttons themselves are finished with a hardcoat anodized finish for maximum durability.

TPO Racing Full-Floating Brake Rotor Buttons work on the Brembo rotors used on all Ducatis from 1991 through present. To determine your order quantity, count the number of rivets on your front brake discs. Typical installations require between 7 and 10 buttons PER DISC, for a total of 14 to 20 pcs for a complete installation. Complete directions with color illustrations are included.

Product is a single brake rotor button. You must determine the number of brake-rotor buttons for your application.
